In the face of the domestic new energy vehicle ownership of more than one million vehicles, the future vehicle battery recycling has become a new problem facing the new energy vehicle industry, and the national level is also stepping up to make up for the shortcomings, through a series of policies, to solve new energy vehicles Problems in promotion. The national standard publicity and implementation meeting of "vehicle power battery recycling and disassembly specification" (hereinafter referred to as "disassembly specification") and "vehicle power battery recycling residual energy detection" (hereinafter referred to as "residual energy detection") was held recently. This means that the domestic new energy vehicle battery recycling will be on the right track.

It is understood that the "Dismantling Code" was announced in May this year and will be officially implemented on December 1 this year. "Residual Energy Testing" has been approved and is expected to be officially released and implemented next year. According to data from the Ministry of Science and Technology, as of last year, the number of new energy vehicles in my country has exceeded 1 million, accounting for 50% of the global number of new energy vehicles. According to the service life of new energy vehicle batteries for 5-8 years, some new energy vehicles are facing the problem of battery recycling.

Industry insiders said that due to the use of ternary lithium, lithium iron phosphate and other types of batteries in domestic new energy vehicles, with various specifications, complex battery recovery and post-processing technology and long process, many enterprises do not have the experience and ability of battery recovery, and lack of professional battery recovery and processing equipment. Relying on traditional manual and other dismantling methods, safety risks such as short circuit, fire or even explosion may occur. Data show that less than 10000 tons of new energy vehicle batteries entered the dismantling process in China last year, and more than 80% of the recycled batteries were stranded in car companies. The "Dismantling Code" issued this time has strict requirements on the safety, operating procedures, storage and management of waste power battery recycling, and solves the development problems of the industry to a certain extent. it standardizes the recycling and dismantling, professional technology and power battery recycling system of vehicle power batteries in China.

At the same time, the "residual energy testing" expected to be implemented next year will provide an evaluation basis for the secondary use of new energy vehicle batteries, which will effectively reduce the battery cost of new energy vehicles in the future. Take the ternary lithium battery used in new energy vehicles as an example, which contains heavy metals such as cobalt and nickel. With the limited resources of the two heavy metals in my country's minerals, the import ratio has continued to rise in recent years, and the price has also risen. In the new energy vehicle battery that has reached the service life, there is usually up to 80% of the capacity that can be used. Industry insiders said that through the secondary use of batteries after disassembly, testing and classification, the cost of new energy vehicle batteries will be reduced by up to 60%.

In fact, while stepping up the introduction of policies related to battery recycling for new energy vehicles at the national level, various new energy vehicle promotion cities also regard battery recycling as one of the important assessment criteria when new energy vehicles are admitted. Zhao Jingguang, vice president and secretary-general of the Beijing New Energy Automobile Industry Association, revealed that when new energy vehicle companies declare to enter the Beijing New Energy Vehicle Demonstration and Promotion Record Catalog, whether they have signed battery recycling contracts with battery recycling companies, and how batteries are used for the second time. Utilization has become one of the assessment factors when filing. "The battery recycling of new energy vehicles is urgent. When applying for the record of new energy vehicles, car companies need to provide specific battery recycling plans. We will launch new energy vehicles in Beijing that meet the standards in terms of use and recycling." He stated.
